    Freaking out over my name on the title to my ex's house!!

    My ex and I got divorced over 3 years ago. He got the house, but never took my name off the title. He is the only one on the mortgage loan itself. Should I be concerned??

    You should only be concerned about the possibility of your liability to others in the event of an accident.

    If the divorce agreement requires you to transfer ownership to your ex, you can easily do this with a quitclaim deed. If you are going to file bankruptcy, I'd get the green light from an attorney first.

    If you dont transfer it, the property ahould be accounted for in your filing. If you do transfer it, the transfer wilk likely be questioned. You can explain this, but in either case the trustee may want to ensure your giving up this asset was fair and equitable.

    For all of thise reasons, talk to an attorney about this bedorw you do anything if you plan to file.
