Filing ch 7 and lawyer said only thing they wld be able to take was 2003 Altima which we bought for our daughter to go to college! He said sometimes they allow u to buy it back; was just wondering what yall's thoughts were on this? She has to have a car to go to school and if they take it and dont let us buy back, we in a bind.

It depends on the trustee who can either sell it to you or somebody else. He may also decide it is not worth the trouble and abandon it. Nobody here can give you a better idea than your attorney of what your particular trustee will do.
If he takes the car, you can always buy another one after you are discharged. Perhaps it is time for your daughter to buy her own car if public transportation is not an option.LadyInTheRed is in the black!
