FHA Streamline Refi prior to filing Chapter 7?

    Hi,
I'm wondering if there's any reason I couldn't do an FHA streamline refinance on my current mortgage prior to filing Chapter 7. I know that Discover card has a judgment lien on my house (NY state, primary residence) The lien is basically worthless as I don't have much equity in the home. Can I get the lien stripped prior to the FHA refinance and then file for chapter 7? I'm not behind on mortgage payments or anything. I'd be filing on old credit cards and medical bills as well as federal taxes that meet the requirements. My reason for BK is medical/disability. I plan to keep my house and I was approved for the FHA streamline refi a while ago, but then found out about the lien that Discover placed on my home. They dismissed my application before I could do anything. The FHA refi would save me approx. $300/month on my mortgage. What is the quickest way to avoid the lien in NY and would there be a waiting period after the refi before I can file the BK? Thank you in advance.

LibertyJen I don't know how you could strip a judgment lien from your home without filing bankruptcy.
    Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
