Just wanted to let everyone know that I did close on the refinance last night!!!!!
The loan is being funded on Monday. The mortgage company is being paid off, the Chapter 13 is being paid off and I am even getting a little back to start a decent savings account.
It has been one of the longest, most difficult 20 months of my life. I could go on and on and on about the challenges and struggles.
But I would like to think I learned so much. I will NEVER be in debt again. I will never allow my family's situation to get the point where we need to file BK. I have learned the hard way how to budget, as anyone in a Chapter 13 can attest too.
I can't thank everyone enough on this forum who has patiently answered my questions or just listened to be vent. BUT FEAR NOT!!! I will not be going anywhere. I want to continue to post here and share my experiences and hopefully help other people like I have been helped. Besides, there is still a little ways to go...I have to be discharged, I have to get the wage garnishment stopped and the Trustee still owes me money, so there are still some smaller challenges left.
My wife and I toasted with Champagne after the gentleman from the Title Agency left. There was no clapping or jumping up and down...just a small kiss and a big sigh of relief. Just we made it out and we know we have a financial future ahead free of debt.
