Finished paying 1/14 Discharge papers dated 5/29/14..How long until it shows discharged on my credit reports? Waiting to apply to buy a house. Should I dispute my bankruptcy info on each and ask them to update to discharged? Or wait?

Congrats on finishing and getting your discharge. I'm also in PA, which district were you in? I'm finished January 2015 and just wondering how long it will take after my final payment.

I'm not sure what district? CD was trustee Hummelstown Pa. I paid it off first week in Jan,credited 1/21/14. Case closed 3/5/14 on site,got my papers today,discharge date 5/29/14,so about 4 months to actually get discharge papers from when I paid it off.Last edited by justbroke; 05-30-2014, 06:01 PM. thanks wendlan, different trustee, I'm in Eastern, with WM, but I guess it will be similar timing.
I would probably give it a month and see what gets updated before contacting the each credit bureau.Discharged 5/2015 Comment

Equifax and Experian have updated to discharged! NO increase in credit score! Funny, I have Equifax 620,Transunion 610 and Experian 561! What is with Experian, I have disputed items and nothing is changed on Experian. The other's responded and fixed items,don't understand. Getting ready to apply for mortgage, I haven't purchased anything in 4 1/2 years except with cash. Have 3 small credit cards I pay,geez already!Comment

I would dispute Experian items in writing. I would include a copy of the discharge order. I would make it clear that they are to remove the items from your credit report.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)

My scores went down slightly since discharge with no other factors. My mortgage guy I used in the past told me i should have applied for a mortgage before completing my chapter 13 bankruptcy because now that I'm discharged it is a 2 year wait for any loan. So for paying my chapter 13 discharge off early I screwed myself!!Comment
