I haven't visited this site in quite some time. I filed Chapter 13 a little over 3 years ago and have a couple of years left. It has been a real struggle some of the time but I'm hanging in there. Its the best thing I have ever done to take care of all the financial mistakes I've made in my lifetime. So my advice is to hang in there, it's only going to get better.

I think when we were in the middle of our 13, it seemed like forever. But suddenly we're at the end (trustee should make last payment to creditors end of Jan!!!!). We've had a death, a birth, and times when I wanted to run away from it. Somehow we've made it though and I'm so glad to soon have this all behind me and start building a good financial future for my kids. Good luck to you! You WILL make it!!

Thanks for sharing. I was thinking just this morning about how hard it is, but I keep going back to our state of being before. No cash, no credit left, no emergency fund, every penny going to someone else. Now I have a little cash, no credit(no big deal to me), a small emergency fund, saving for retirement, and did I say a little cash. Now when a car breaks down I still stress over it, but at least I can pay for it. I even have a decent hobby fund to make it all worth the effort.
Someone here shared a very simple saying and I apply it to many things. This may not be word for word.
The successful focus on the finish line and not on the trials and tribulations to get there.
Keep in mind everyone has a different idea of what success is so don't measure your success by mine.11/23/'10-filed ch 13. 1/6/'11-341, confirmed. Below median. Plan completed 11/30/2015. DISSCHARGED 4/4/2016.JP
