    PACER question

I've been reading here that we can access our Chapter 13 case files through the Court's PACER system. Is the information there different from the information on the NDC site? I see that PACER charges 10 cents per record. Does that add up quickly? I'm a little hesitant to register on PACER if it's going to cost me a lot of money.

Is the information on the PACER site easy for the average person to understand, or is it primarily for lawyers (in other words, would a regular Joe like me be able to understand it)?

    Thanks!!

First, you can read the PACER Sticky for information about PACER and how to save money!

Second, PACER is totally different than the NDC. The NDC is a Trustee tool for monitoring and tracking claims and payments. PACER is the court electronic docket system.

    Congratulations on the pending discharge!

For those who don't know what that means, PACER is the court's official electronic record of all events that occur in a case.

Unless it's changed, PACER will only bill you if your total useage for a quarter exceeds $15. Some months I looked at it every day to see the status of a motion and so far have only incurred about $20 during our entire BK. You can also save the pages to your desktop or other for your reference.

What happens if your usage does NOT exceed $15 for the quarter? Does the balance reset to $0?
