Here's a thought:

If you sent it from work, most companies have that canned confidentiality notice in fine print at the bottom of the email (like there used to be with faxes). They usually flat-out say if you're not the intended recipent you have to erase if from your brain and delete/destroy any copies. Maybe that could be some leverage..?

I'm really sorry - I feel the same way about my finances and my BK experience. I've kept it on the down-low for more thant three years now. BUt like I've read a million times here (and I do actually believe): a banruptcy is not an example of your character, it's a business decision. Arguably, it's an affirmation of your character and your ability to recognize your limites.

The once or twice i was cornered, I told my friends I was part of a government sponsored debt reorganization plan. That seemed to do the trick.

I totally understand where you are here. While we were still in the pre-filing stage, I did the exact same thing. Except that it wasn't someone I worked with. I was so embarrassed and scared. In your case, I understand the job related concerns. It really SHOULD not cause any issues there but we both know things don't always go as they should. In the end, I stopped caring who did and didn't know. Quite a few people in our lives know about it and some don't. I don't keep track and I no longer care. I'm no longer ashamed of it. It's simply a tool we used to take care of ourselves.
