Discharge in AZ - anyone have tips? Several questions

It has been a long 5 years. We filed Ch13 in July 2008 and our last payment is due in just 2 weeks. I looked over all my papers when we were confirmed and there is nothing that states we have to complete a financial counseling course at the end of our CH13. I'm assuming I do, it sounds like everyone does, but do I wait for instructions? Any links for the least expensive one that is acceptable in AZ (Maricopa County)? And how long can I expect it to take to get discharged once we make our final payment? Our two car payments were in with the CH13 (AZ Federal Credit Union was the creditor, we did a lien strip) - what do I need to do to get the titles?

I'm so relieved to be just about done - it sometimes felt like this day would never get here.

    Thanks!!!

Thank you! It's been a huge struggle. A job loss, pay cut, years of no raises for my spouse yet cost of living going up... At one point I was a few months behind on my payments and had to deal with a payment increase for the duration of the plan to make up the difference. And car troubles x2. Best of luck to you!!!

Yes, everybody must take the course. There's another thread started today about this: http://www.bkforum.com/showthread.ph...fore-Discharge.

Here's one that costs $7.95: http://www.bankruptcydebtoreducation.com/. I found it with a quick Google search. Confirm it is approved for Arizona filers at http://www.justice.gov/ust/eo/bapcpa...e_approved.htm.

Just wanted to clarify, the certificate of completion has to be submitted before you are discharged, so don't wait too long.

Wow, I can't believe you are done.. I would always look at your posts since we are also in AZ.. We filed in 4/2009 & wil make our last payment 4/2014. I can't wait to be done & it seems the last few months have been the hardest but we are hanging in there! Yes, we had job loss, medical issues but have been able to keep up.

I'm also curious on the car titles. We have a car & truck that have been paid off in our plan. balance was paid off last October. Now our payment goes to back taxes. Car is thru Cap 1 & truck thru Wachovia. We are in Pinal county. Hope it isn't difficult to get the titles when we are discharged.. let us know how it goes or you!

Thank you all!! I am working on our debtor education requirement now, thank you for the link!! Not sure how much longer my car will last, it's been having lots of issues lately, so I'm hoping we get our discharge papers quickly and can do what we can to hopefully qualify for a car loan. I wish could wait awhile, but seriously there were times I didn't even know if it would make it through the 5 years. I will keep you posted on my discharge - hopefully it is quick, easy and uneventful!
