LadyInTheRed is in the black!
Filed Chap 13 April 2010. Discharged May 2015.
$143,000 in debt discharged for $36,500, including attorneys fees. Money well spent!
The greatest challenge for me was learning to budget. Once I got there, I just sort of lived my life, and tried not to worry about the fact that the courts owned me. I know it is genaric advice, but you really need to sit down, make a budget and stick to it.
I think if I did it all over again, I would have looked for more options before I went into bankruptcy. At the time it seemed like the only choice, but with the knowledge I have now, perhaps I could have made other payment arrangements. I would advise seriously thinking about this decision, and don't panic. In the end I learned valuable lessons, and so I am not complaining.
