I learned a lot over the last 66 months, especially how to live on cash and a solid budget. The biggest challenge ahead is that I am being relocated and I have to go and try to get a mortgage now, I would have liked a bit of time to rebuild my credit. My company has a nice relo plan but I have been trying to find a good lender that will do a manual approval versus everyone that wants to do it electronically.

The biggest let downs were Ohio's confirmation date discharge which I didn't expect, it really sucked when I thought I was through in November and they told me that it would go until August...and also having bad vehicles going into the BK was also a bad idea, I have two that are ready to fall apart so a new car is in my future. I have started a secured card with a nice balance to re-build also.

Hi scht65, sounds like we have very similar stories! I just got my letter to stop the wage garnishment this weekend, despite filing back in Sept of 07, so have been in my CH 13 for 67 months now, but also should be getting back 3-months worth of overpayments by the end of July or so by the looks of things. (The stop of the wage garnishment also said that they'd be doing an accounting review over the next 2-3 weeks, then sending out a letter to creditors to give them 21 days to object to discharge, then ~2 weeks after that send back my overpayments if things run smoothly.) Also in Ohio, and while I like that my trustee has been pretty reasonable, the BK dragging on for almost a whole extra year by the time everything is said and done is a bummer. I hope to join you in the discharged ranks soon tho!

Plan Modified July 8, 2009 from $1100/month to $400/month due to change in income, finally discharged in July of 2013!

The BK court was very quick with the 30 - day discharge exactly 33 days from the notice to creditors. The only problem is that they have not ordered the stop garnishment order yet. So I have my discharge but no stop to garnshment letter yet...

I actually asked my trustee (Pees) to stop the garnishment, sent an e-mail to the assistant to the trustee that was assigned to my case and she replied back some bureaucratic gobbely-goop that I couldn't understand but sounded like she was saying that I needed to wait it out, but then within a week got the letter stopping the wage order, so maybe asking helped speed things along? And when I got that letter also got the notice about how long the discharge might take from this point forward. Since it's a VOLUNTARY wage order (at least that's what mine said when I initially had to turn it in to payroll) and you have your discharge papers, couldn't you go to your payroll office and tell them to stop taking it out without the letter? (I was thinking about trying to do that myself but since i'm not discharged yet didn't want to do anything to tick the trustee off this late in the game.) But in your case, since the case is closed I'd think you could take the discharge paperwork in to your employer and use that to get them to stop withholdings and since you are discharged there couldn't be any blowback from the trustee.

So Ohio folks your saying it has taken 3 months after your final payment to get your wage order stopped?? Oh man, we are about to be making our final payment I was so hoping for it a little sooner, we want to move to a bigger place. I'm in the Columbus area too.

They did something similar to us, we should have been done like 6 months ago, then last year we got a letter saying we had until July this year, we really never understood the letter, just went with the flow, we are 100% payback.

I am in Akron, and I didn't expect the additional time requirement (filed in November, confirmed in August) so when I was told in December that my payments would continue until August I was shocked. I was able to get the money to payoff plan in February but have been getting the payments withdrawn still even after all the creditors are at a zero balance. I guess if you are in a 100% payback they can continue to the confirmation date to complete plan which would have been 69 months
