New Creditor Appeared on My Credit Report (probably purchased account from OC)

I was taking a look at my credit report and there is a NEW debt of almost 5,000 dollars from Calavary Portfolio Services. Says UNPAID. I have no clue as to what debt this is, as I have not acquired new debt. Anyone heard of this and getting reported on a credit report? If this is an account I included in my BK,what are my options?

Do I file a dispute with the credit reporting agencies????

The amount noted is similar to a couple of accounts on my BK....

    Thanks

freeme0215, I moved your post to a new thread where it is more likely to get responses.

Yes, you should dispute the reporting.

Are you still in a Chap 13?

$143,000 in debt discharged for $36,500, including attorneys fees. Money well spent!

      As LITR advised, dispute it.

I'm going thru something similar. Recently signed up for a service (provided free btw) that monitors my credit for the next year. Noticed an unpaid, but closed, cc (BOA) that should have been part of the 13. Can't exactly verify the account as the listed number jives with nothing claimed and the amount comes within a couple hundred bucks of a claim that was listed but not being paid. Called TransUnion yesterday and informed them that I was in an active 13 and that it should be listed as such in the credit report. We'll see what develops. They said I should hear something in about week or so. I found it odd that TU was the only one reporting it and the other 2 did not even list the account.
