A bit of history on my CH13 journey: Sept 2007 contacted one of those large Bankruptcy firms that advertises on TV and scheduled a meeting in Sept 2007 and after reviewing my numbers I was told I should have no problems filing CH7. Fast forward to Dec 2007- I was sued by Citifinancial and the first court hearing was scheduled for Jan 2008. After paying all the lawyers fees and anticipating my case being filed- I was told my --- law firm that after running the $$$- that I made too much money to file a CH7 and that I would need to file a CH13. Attorney came up with a monthly payment amount to the trustee that was extremely high. I ran my own numbers and came up with disposable income that was about $600 a month less than the attorney had come up with. I ended up up having to travel to the headquarters of the law firm to sit with them to review the $$ and they realized they had made a mistake with the $$.. My CH13 was filed (with the updated $$) before the court hearing for the lawsuit..
