    Ch.13- Status - About to Close...What's Next?

I was very excited to receive a copy of the stop wage garnishment letter last month but I'm not sure what happens next.

I've read several post and understand the discharge may take a few months (completed counseling already).

I'm curious about repairing my credit after the discharge.

Where do I start? Equifax score is 582, reporting 14 negative accounts, 11 have a zero balance.

    **History**
Filed in Nov 2008, Confirmed Dec 2008, 48 month plan,
1 CC, 1 Vehicle, Furniture, Unsecured loans

Once the trustee acknowledges that a debtor has completed the confirmed payment schedule, the debtor is advised to stop sending payments. If this was accomplished by wage deduction, the debtor provides a copy of the trustee letter to the employer if it has not been done by the trustee him/herself or the debtor's attorney. The debtor is advised that the discharge will be granted by the bankruptcy court once all requirements have been met. For the debtor's part, the debtor will have completed the required financial management course and will have filed the Motion In Support Of Discharge, which is the affidavit pertaining to Domestic Support Obligations or the lack thereof.
From there, the trustee's office will conduct a final audit of the case and file a report with the court. The time frame from audit to actual granting of the discharge varies widely - it depends on the trustee's case load and the calendar obligations of the judge to which your case is assigned. The only thing you can say with confidence is that it takes longer than the debtor would like it to take.

The only thing that will repair your credit score is time. None of the accounts listed in your bankruptcy filing should be in your credit report. All the report should mention is the number of closed accounts.

The accounts can be there. They just need to be a $0 balance and listed as IIB (included in bankruptcy).

Thank you! I've read that on other post as well. I initiated a dispute for the items that listed a balance and past due status. It's been 4 long years & I look forward to establishing credit.
