I'm the non-filing spouse and need to buy a car

    Hello,

We are in year 2 of my wife's Chapter 13 and all is going well. Her payment is now increasing by $290.00 because of the completion of a car payment in my name. When we did the Chpt 13 only in her name, the payment was based on our combined house income and since my car payment is now finished, the trustee has it scheduled that my wife's payment increase by that same amount.

So it makes sense to me that I simply go and finance another car so that we can reduce my wife's payment close to what it was before. She did ask this of the attorney and the attorney said it would not be a problem that they would resubmit a form to the Trustee. Has anyone had experience with something like this? Will a whole "new" budgeting form with paystubs be required again showing our disposable income? I'd hate to have to go through all of that again. Or is the process more simple. Any information is greatly appreciated.
