    Question about income

Since my attorney is no longer in business I have no one to turn to for answers so hopefully someone can help me on this.

I will be mailing my November payment next week and that will leave 5 more payments until I am done with my 13. When I had my 341 almost 2 1/2 years ago the trustee said any extra money I brought in would go to the creditors in my plan. So i never bothered to look for a 2nd job since I couldnt keep the money anyway.

I now have a chance to take a part time job that would bring in an extra 600.00 per month. Since I am so close to being done and would only get like 4 paychecks this year yet on that job it would'nt look like that much extra on my tax return is what I am thinking. The trustee has gotten 2 tax returns from me with a bump in pay on both returns and has not said one word about raising my payment.

Should I just continue to lay low and finish the plan as is or would it be ok to take the 2nd job? I am torn on what to do since I am almost finished I dont want to create any problems.

Take the job. In four months you will be done and you will be glad for the extra income. It's not likely that the trustee will take the extra money but even if he does, it's only for a couple of months vs passing up the opportunity. From were we sit, jobs are too hard to find to let one pass by. Especially if it's something you would enjoy or has the potential to become something more.

    Best regards,

I am thinking it will be ok to take the job also. It was offered from a friend of mine who owns a business and they need someone to come in 5 days a week for 3 hrs to dust, vac, clean bathrooms, empty trash ,etc. I clean houses for a living so it is right up my alley! He can't pay cash unfortunetly since he needs it as a tax write off which I fully understand. Seems like this was offered at the right time in my life. The extra money will be so nice too. I am excited now! I will call my friend in the morning and tell him I will accept the job.

I agree that you should take the job. But, just to be safe, I'd put those first 4 pay checks in a savings account so you have it available if you end up having to pay any of it to the trustee.

Good call. So close to the end of the plan I would not worry about it. Even if by some slim chance you ended up having to modify your plan you also file a new list of expenses, you probably have had costs of things go up since you filed as well as additional gas and other expenses caused by the job and you will be happy you have the extra cash after your plan ends.

My trustee does not even want you to report 2nd jobs no matter what, but I have an unusual district.
