okay, then what is your individual financial situation that makes this a good idea in your mind?

What is your current chapter 13 payment?
How much in back taxes do you owe?
At what point in the plan do you think the taxes will be paid (what month)?
How much do you owe in other debts?
Prior to the chapter 13, did the IRS file tax liens for the tax debt?

      1. $602 right now untill 04/13 at which point 13 will go up to $1008.00 (once auto is payed off).
      2. $9k
      3. 10/2013
      4. $37k
      5. No liens

      My 1st 13 payment was on 05/11 on a 5 year plan (05/16).
I have a collectors car which is worth about $25k which I would sell and use to negotiate the $37k
This is all just a thought. Not saying I'd do this but it's a high risk option.

Do you currently owe $9K in back taxes or $17k?
        LadyInTheRed is in the black!
Filed Chap 13 April 2010. Discharged May 2015.
$143,000 in debt discharged for $36,500, including attorneys fees. Money well spent!

My bad I actually owed about $21k in back taxes. But now it's down to about $9k. This past year I got a tax refund of about $3500 which I turned over to the trustee and in turn went to back taxs.
