As posted earlier, we have retained an atty, and are planning to file in May...we will be including a car (owing about 13k) in our filing, and that will be our only secured debt....wondering about car payments for Mar and April....payments are about 325...would be nice if we could use that $650 toward our atty fees...any thoughts?

You are playing a dangerous game. Car is likely to be repoed if you are 2 payments past due. Unless you can keep it in a locked garage I would not go more than 30 days past due. The lawyer will be paid out of the ch13 plan, you should only have to pay your filing fees upfront.filed chapter 13..confirmed...converted to chapter 7...DISCHARGED! -
I'm with Catleg. The longer you go without payment - the more risky it becomes. What if your attorney get behind, means to file on May 15 but doesn't get it done until May 31?
Perhaps call the lender, ask if they will allow you to defer a payment or two?~Staci
