Convert ch 13 to ch 7

    Hello all:

Could someone please refresh me on how easy/hard it is to convert a ch13 to a chapter 7 case (I live in VA if it matters) and what kind of timelines/expenses I might expect? I have not read up on this since new laws were place in effect. Thanks! Oh-one other important fact...I do not intend to keep my home and I do not own a car so those aren't factors.

Was your original filing Old Law or New and how long ago? That may have a bearing on the answers you get.

If you originally filed Old Law right before the cut-off and are just now getting converted, then Old Law may apply. If you filed Old Law some time ago, were dismissed, and just now decided to file Ch 13, it may make you a New Law filer.
    Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
    Discharged - 12/2006
Officially Declared No Asset - 03/2007
    Closed - 04/2007
