    Question about credit report

    Hi Folks,

As some of you may recall I filed chapter 13 back in February. (I can't believe how quickly the months have gone by!) I checked my credit report and all creditors are reporting "wage earner or similar plan, except my car note, which is pays as agreed and my second mortgage which states, "30 days past due" with no activity since November 2010 which is when I stopped paying the 2nd mortgage. They are also the only creditor listing a balance becided my student loans.

Should I dispute the second mortgage entry with the credit bureau? They never filed a claim, so I'm thinking they are oblivious to how the process even works.
Filed Chapter 13 with lien strip on 2-28-11 * 341 held on 3-30-11 * First confirmation hearing held 4-20-11, continued until 5-25-11, continued until 6-29-11, continued until 8-10-11. Plan finally confirmed on 8-10-11!!!

You would never want to dispute a pays as agreed and have it updated to a negative. Is that what you are asking?

That's not what I said. The pays as agreed are fine. It's the second mortgage which still says 30 days past due that I'm questioning.

You stopped paying your 2nd mortgage in November and then filed in February. So, it sounds like you became 30 days past due sometime in December and then 60 days past due sometime in January. So, it is appropriate for that past due to remain on your report, as long as they don't report it past due in any period after your filing. I think it is correct to show a balance due until the debt is actually discharged.

I wouldn't worry so much about correcting your credit report right now. Wait until after your discharge, give things a couple of months to settle down and then review your credit reports for errors.

Last I checked, my car loan that is being paid through my plan payment also still shows as paid as agreed. I am hoping it will stay that way because my BK will not delay the final pay off date of the loan. It really is getting paid as agreed.

Filed Chap 13 April 2010. Discharged May 2015.
$143,000 in debt discharged for $36,500, including attorneys fees. Money well spent!
