Yeah, that was pretty much my biggest fear and it's been realized. I'm still trying to digest this completely. I went through the draft initially with a fine tooth comb and had issues with the way the income was calculated. I'm awaiting my revised version of the document so I can go through it again and make sure the numbers make sense. We don't live extravagant. We're not including arrears of anything. I have 1 car payment at 380/mo. We have about 9K of non exempt assets we wish to keep over a payment period of 60 months. Maybe it's simply that our income is just that high. The plan payment comes out to about 1/4 of our take home pay. The atty didn't do a means test at the consultation. Our income was enough over the limit that he just knew we weren't eligble for Ch7.

Theres a pending judgment of which the value is still in question (could be 300K or more). I'm trying to get some values to help the atty estimate that debt. That couldnt be the reason, right? The payment is strictly based on secured debt payback and DMI, right? (maybe I'm just grasping at straws??)

I'm just hoping at this point it's a problem in the calculation. I intend to find out tomorrow exactly how the payment is so different then originally estimated. Who knows, maybe it's the right amount and it's just a hard pill to swallow. I just wish the atty hadn't given me such a low amount. I gave him plenty of info in the beginning. It really took the wind out of me. I'm so far into this now, I can't turn back now. I feel I have no choice. *sigh*
