    What's involved in converting from a chapter 13 to a chapter 7?

Hi, I posted last night (we're in a 13 now) about a change in jobs bringing our income under the median by about $1800.
If we're able to convert to a chapter 7, what is the process? what's involved? or do we have to dismiss the 13 and refile a chapter 7?
We do have calls/emails into our lawyer, but any advice or info until he gets back to us is greatly appreciated.

Your attorney can file for a conversion for you. It is best to not have your case dismissed then re-file for a Chapter 7 as it will show up as 2 separate bankruptcy filings. Once you sit down (face to face) with your attorney and bring in current financials, then he/she can start the process for you.
    Filed Chapter 13 02/2006 - Confirmed 05/2006 - Discharged 09/2011
I'm not an attorney. My replies are merely suggestions or observations, not legal advice. As always, consult with an attorney before making any decisions.
