    Pregnancy during 13

    Hello,

I've seen a post about having a baby during a 13 but I cannot find it. Is that something that needs to be reported to the attorney...does it change anything?

    Thanks

It doesn't change anything until the baby is born. Then your financial situation changes as there is now an additional dependent. The best thing to do is inform one's attorney's office if a baby is on the way and they will give instructions as to what needs to be done and at what time.

Thank you for the information Flamingo. Could this possibly decrease the payment?

I am currently in this situation. I am expecting #2 in October. I went and spoke with my attorney and from what she told me I would have to wait a few months (probably 2-3) after the baby was born to determine if the payment would decrease. This would allow us time to collect receipts for the new expenses. She said she would have to redo the numbers and we would have to go to court.

My concern wasn't really about decreasing the payments, but what would need to be done while I am out on maternity leave. I am only going to receive 60% of my pay. She stated that they would grant permission from the trustee to do a suspension of payments for the time I was out.

          Hi Jherron,

I would like to know how this works out for you. I'm early in my pregancy and not due until March. I'll be out for 3 months and will also receive 60% for only 8 weeks so suspension of payments is good to know. According to my HR the 60% is not bad at all because it's 60% of my salary from the year prior which includes any bonuses, tax free and paid weekly. So this is actually the same if not more for me.

Congratulations to you, this would be my #2 also.
