Our truck has been apart of the payment plan. My question is how do we go about getting the title of ownership of the truck once the bk has been discharged or is it an automatic thing that they just release the title and send it to us.

I bet the Finance Company holds onto until they get the discharge letter. I have a car that would have been paid for by now also, but it got included in the chapter 13. I'll find out in Jan. -

In our state, our auto lender (Ford) won't give us the car titles for our cars that were paid off during our plan until after we are discharged next month (
) . Our lawyer said that once we receive our discharge letter from the courts, we need to send Ford a letter requesting the titles and to let him know if we have any difficulty getting them so he can send a strongly worded letter to them on their legal letterhead.

im not even worried about how fast i receive the title lol i am wanting to drop insurance on the car due to the fact it hasnt run for over two yrs
i have been paying full coverage insurance on a car that wont run because it was financed .

newbie2,honestly i didnt think they would and the $200 would just go to another creditor.i dont think they would drop it and let me keep the extra money.that would have been nice for sure

Tbon,the car i have was through Capital one .i contacted their bk department and they told me the way it was written that i wouldnt be able to get it til after discharge.I dont know what was so special about the way it was written though lolComment
