Question about renting

I have filed for chapter 13 in Florida ...and my question is this...The home that I am living in is rented...can I add it to the chapter 13 plan...and if so...what happenes?? I mean right now I am behind on Julys rent...will the owner have to work with the plan?

When did you file? Were you behind when you filed? You could add them as a creditor for any rent you were behind on as of the date you filed. Any rent that comes due after the date you filed can not be added to the plan however.

Yes I was behind only one month when I filed...I just filed only about a week and half ago...so I was behind the july payment.

You can add them as a creditor and it would be treated as a general unsecured claim. While your landlord will have no choice in the matter he may have some resentment toward you and may not renew your lease when it is up.
