how much are you paying back on CH13

    Hello,

Wife have 2-3 credit cards with about total of $16k debt.
She's not working and although I make good money, she accumulates these over years and interest is killing us.
from what I understand we won't pass the "mean test" in CH7 (I can make $140k, which is not a lot in my neighborhood), so we're debating whether she'll do the CH13.
do you take the "mean test" also on CH13?
Is there a calculator, how much you actually have to pay to the CC companies?

    Thanks.

The payment is based off of your disposable monthly income after all secured debts and allowable living expenses are paid. You must commit 100% of your disposable income to the plan each month.

With your income being relatively high and your debt fairly low, you'd probably be in a 100% payback plan. The good news is that you wouldn't have to pay interest on the balance. However, with attorney fees and trustee fees added in, you are probably better off putting yourselves on a strict budget and paying the cards back on your own.
    Filed Chapter 13 on 2-28-10. 341 completed 4/14/10. Confirmed 5/14/10. Lien strip granted 2/2/11
0% payback to unsecured creditors, 56 payments down, 4 to go....

You don't have to pay them anything, theoretically speaking.

One's balance of income and expenses determines the disposable income which is to be distributed to creditors...

My own plan provides 0% to unsecured creditors. And I'm far from being the only one in that boat.

      Good luck to us all.
No person in their right mind files a Ch. 13 with lien strip pro se. I have. Therefore, please consider me insane and clinically certifiable when reading my posts, and DO NOT take them as legal advice of any kind.Thank you.
