We finally took the plunge!

After months of analyzing and re-analyzing our situation, and coming to this forum for answers, we signed our petition today.

60-month plan with 100% payback to our unsecured creditors. The plan includes our mortgage payment along with 3 past due payments. We are planning to pursue a mortgage modification with the court's permission, so hopefully that will improve the situation.

You got that right, make sure you have competnt attorney. Our mistake has made it a living hell, still trying to fix.

Good luck with your plan. Accepting the need to take control of your life is the toughest step any of us has had to take. Yes, 5 years is a long time, but with sound planning and sound spending habits you will be able to persevere.
