Just filed Chp 13 BK, Now a few questions Re: current rental

Hello everyone, well I just filed Chp 13 BK in April. I'm now headed into the unknown, a bit scary I'd say with a family of 3. Well I have a question for you all.

I have my 341 meeting on the 20th of May and I was going to move out of my current rental right after the hearing (landlord is shortselling, darn liar!) and rent another house for the same price from a family member ($1500). Could this have any negative effect on my Ch 13 case? Besides letting my attorney know.

FYI my plan is for 60 months. Starting at $300 then bumping up to $600 once a 401K loan is paid off then bumping up to $1000 once auto loan is paid off (1.5 yrs). So I only feel the initial $300 (60% payoff). Fingers crossed!

Do make sure your attorney knows your plan. Typically if there's no significant change in your monthly rate, changing residences won't change your disposable income enough to force a plan modification.

Do be sure that your lawyer notifies the court about your new mailing address as soon as you move.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
