Janland, I moved your post from the 2006 thread to here in its own thread. It's against our forum rules to resurrect old threads because the information could have been accurate then but may not be accurate now.
There are many threads and posts about creditors freezing bank accounts before or right after filing here in the different forum areas. Suggest doing a forum search for 'frozen bank account', 'frozen account', etc. and see what shows up.
