Setting up trustee payment via payroll deduction.

I have been making our trustee payment via cashiers check or money order but decided to set up the payroll deduction method to make it easier on us and the trustee. I received a confirmation from the trustee that my payment would be done through payroll deduction as I requested. This notice was received about 10 days ago and for the payment due the 23rd to be on time should have come out of my last paycheck dated 4/15, but it was not. I have funds in hand to pay it but if the deduction starts on the next check (4/29) it could put me in a bad place with my mortgage.
I attempted to discuss this with my payroll department and since this is outsourced it was very difficult to communicate and I kept ending up in the wrong department. HR sends me to payroll who sends me to HR who sends me to 401K(???), what the hell? My HR rep who I may see once a month, maybe, says to call the help line, which is the outsourced folks who are useless. So I went back to payroll and spoke to a BK "specialist" who stated they had not received anything, but to take another hour out of your day next week to check again. So I asked where to send the court order and a fax number, and it was the same one I listed for the trustee.

So I will call the attorney Monday for next steps, but I know they will say to send the payment and don't worry about the double payment. As if I have it to spare.

Anyone have trouble setting up theirs?

I did not have any trouble setting mine up . . but I certainly had trouble turning it off lol. If I had to do it again, I would prefer to make payments because having payroll deductions ended up dragging my BK13 out about an additional 4 months. Because, I got a copy of the STOP deduction from the court . . . .and I just expected that things would work out, as they should in a perfect world.

But, 4 paychecks later, my work was still sending the Trustee money. The trustee in turn, refunds the overpayment to me, but this adds on an additional 2 week cycle for each time my work overpays the Trustee. Because, the trustee can not do a final report to the court, for discharge, until the very very very last check is cashed and it clears the bank. That includes any refunded overpayments to you. On top of that, our trustee only does bank reports once per month. Wouldn't ya know it . . I missed mine by 2 days, so even after that final check was cleared . . I had to wait an additional month for them to look at the bank tapes.

Why did my work keep sending money? Well, they state they never got the stop-order. Trustee swears she sent it. Work swears they never got it.

So anyway, I completed my payments in November of 2010. And here I still sit, because of that mess. Finally, I have a court discharge hearing scheduled for May 12 . . . 6 months . . later.

Everyone says . . be patient . . you are so close . . . why stress it? Well, they obviously filed a '7' or if they filed a 13, they have forgotten what it's like to be in a chapter 13 for 5 FEAK'N years lol. Patient? Yeah we got that part!!

    Good luck though!

So I have the money in hand but I plan to ride out the letter from the trustee stating "going forward all payments will be paid through payroll deduction". This was a copy of the order sent to my payroll dept. This will cause the payment to go through on the 29th, if it is deducted on my next payday, and causes me concern because the due date is the 23rd. I have the money in hand and will hold it to see if it does go through or the attorney is notified by the trustee that I need to make it.

Anyone have any other experience setting up thiers after making a few payments via mail or what not?

Even though the payment was after the due date was the trustee satisfied? That is they did not call your attorney looking for it.
