I use postal money orders. $1.10 each, and $5 if they get lost. They have a $1000 limit and accept debit cards for payment.
My wife and I have two case numbers, so I get 2 USPS postal money orders and mail in 2 separate envelopes. I've learned the hard way
that the service center only expects to find one money order per envelope!
I have a preprinted "form" that I send along with our names, the case number, the amount and the target date.
And I tape a printed cut-out "label" with the trustees address on the envelope, first class mail.
Has never gone wrong except when I tried saving a stamp and putting 2 payments in one envelope.
You have to allow 7-10 days for the payments to post at the website but our trustee has never hassled us over it.
It's literally the only "bill" that I put in the mail anymore.
I also keep a ledger in Excel showing the money order number, date purchased and date posted to 13datacenter.com. It really helps. And of course the receipts go in the drawer.filed chapter 13..confirmed...converted to chapter 7...DISCHARGED!

We made ONE payment to our trustee with a personal check--and then spent days biting our nails and watching the account to make sure that the trustee's check cleared before something else came in to cobber the money in the account. After that, it was by money order purchased at the post office."To go bravely forward is to invite a miracle."

I thought, "oh yeah? We'll see about that!"
I had an antique stapler and a full box of its staples--big, fat, obnoxious ones that can't be pulled out with a conventional staple puller. And the next month, we made out our two checks, and I stapled the invoice and checks together in four different spots and mailed it out. We did that each succeeding month, until that account was paid out, and then we never did business with them again.Last edited by AngelinaCat; 04-23-2011, 10:09 AM."To go bravely forward is to invite a miracle."

I get my Money Order at WalMart for $0.60. Then mail it Certified with an electronic/email return receipt. It takes about a week to show up on the DataCenter. My payment is due toward the end of the month so I make sure I send it at least 2 weeks ahead and no problems so far.
Only 9 payments left out of 60! I'm in the single digits now and counting down!

I already sent the first payment in as instructed by my attorney even though we haven't had the meeting yet. He said to just send a regular check by regular mail and I did send it eight days before it was due by regular mail. I think it got there the next day and went through my account that same day! I am hoping I can set it up online through my bill pay on my checking account for the future as I do not like mailing things out.

Our checking account is with a CU in Dayton, OH, and we live in Florida. 'Hub joined this CU more than 40 years ago when he was first hired by NCR Corp., and wishes to stay with it as we have had good service and a good relationship, even through the BK. So for us, it always took a little longer for checks to clear when they had to make the round trip from Florida to Dayton and back.
Nowadays we are cash or debit card only. We haven't used a check since the last ones ran out in 2008."To go bravely forward is to invite a miracle."

Angelina - our first due date is May 21st for 1st payment. Because of when I get paid, I'm going to send it via USPS EXPRESS MAIL so Trustee's PO Box will have it on May 14th - does that sound ok? I will have receipt of mailing, receipt of...receipt from USPS and copy of money order...sounds good???
