Trying to find out if our mortgage company can amend there claim after the bar date has past. We surrendered the property that they had filed a Secured claim to. They did file a unsecured claim. My understanding is they do have to in order to receive nay money. Does anyone know if they can do this. I've tried to find an answer online w/out bothering my attorney.

Can a secured claim be amended after the bar date?

Once the claim is filed timely it can be amended. However, unless you are a 100% payback you should not concern yourself over it as it will have no impact on your Plan. Certainly if a creditor amends years down the road and you are a 100% payback an objection to the claim would be appropriate as the lender's actions have prejudiced your case. (Just my spin on the topic.)
