    Update:

Now I have no car! Yesterday it died. New engine . . . or bust. Life is great . . . give me some chocolate cake!

No car and I can not get approved on a loan until this discharge paper is in my hand. Gotta spend the next 4 to 6 weeks juggling rides and car pools to work. Wonderful (with a capital 'W' . . but ohhhh, how I wish it was a capital ONE instead!)

Tick tock . . .tic tock . . is it April Yet?

But even when the Trustee files the final report . . I am now told that my attorney has 30 days to send me some affidavit to sign . . . Yipeee. Then I have to send it back to him . . Yipee (X2). Then he has to mail it to the court (Oh this seems like a speedy process). . . then the court will schedule a hearing to discharge my BK. Another speedy process? It's just a signature from a judge . . . sigh.. Really, they need a hearing? I should be so honored, your honor!

Life just feels so slow sometimes

I thought nobody drove in New York. Most rental car companies have long term rental programs that are relatively inexpensive. You can rent an economy car from Budget in my area for $675 a month.

Haha! . . . I think you have New York confused with California

Only $675/month ? Yipeeeeeeeee There goes a chunk of my down payment.

Yes, those "mini-leases" are not really that cheap. You may even require insurance which will drive the cost up as well. Hertz also provides these mini-leases. If you're saving for a car, then spending $700-1100 a month on a mini-lease will hurt.

Best of luck to you though. Seems like this will never end, but you'll make it through this.

Summary: Last payment made to Trustee 12/2010. I AM STILL WAITING !!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who have been following my drama: the last I posted, I had to wait until April 1 for the Trustee to get the 'once per month' bank report so they can verify all checks have cleared and trigger the final report to electronically file to the court. I waited a whole month (very patiently, I might add).

I have been watching Pacer every day, waiting for the magic moment . . . it still has not come. Today I called the Trustee's office. All checks have cleared . . . ok great. So, when can I expect the Final report to be filed with the court??

answer: "That should be all done in a couple of weeks, ok?"

NO! that's not ok!!! I feel like this is just dragging and dragging and dragging . . . .

So, here I am . . no further along than this same time last month. Still need a final report to be filed. Then I need some silly affidavit from my attorney (that basically says I swear I don't owe any child support . . . of course, I have never been married and have no children, so this is just another pain in the arse . . . .. that does not apply to me). Then we have to get a copy of that to the court, then finally . . one day . . . . this will discharge.

            LORD HEAR MY PRAYER~

            BTW, I made cupcakes this weekend . . . . Chocolate-Mocha cream. I ate them all.

Finally, some good news . . . . There is a light at the end of the tunnel . . . although the tunnel appears long . . .

I called the Trustee and they had run their April Bank Tape through the system. My checks were finally all clear, and she promised to get the Final Report electronically filed by the end of the day, and told me it would post the following day.

She was absolutely correct. My final report was posted on PACER the next afternoon.

From there, I called my attorney and asked if they can email my DSO Certification Affidavit (which is now a part of the 13 discharge process). My attorney emailed it within minutes, and I singed it . . . scanned it into my phone . . then faxed it back to her within the hour.

My attorney electronically filed the DSO Affidavit . . . . and that should post on Monday. Yipee . . . . . Now, I can honestly say I have done ALL that I need to do . . . all T's are crossed, and all I's are dotted. I took care of the pre-discharge course a while back and that posted some time ago as well.

Now I go into the final waiting game. The Court. My attorney informed me that the court typically sets a discharge hearing date of about 30 days from now . . . and then the discharge will be signed THANK GOODNESS.

30 days still seems so far . . I have no car and can't get a loan until this discharges But alas, I am on the home stretch!

See Y'all at the Finish Line!!
