    chapter 13 and credit score

My husbands credit score is 511 and mine is 490. How long after filing the chapter 13 will we start seeing a difference in it? What can we do during the 13 to increase it?

This is an interesting question one that I hope someone with a definitive answer can address.

In my case, almost a year after filing, my credit score was STILL around 490. I pulled credit and saw that my mortgage company was STILL reporting me as late on payments, even though my mortgage is included in the Chapter 13!

I wrote them an urgent letter, sent it by certified mail and they corrected it. So right now, my FICO score is ZERO, since all my credit accounts are in the Chapter 13, including cars and house. All my accounts are listed as INCLUDED IN BANKRUPTCY, which has dropped my score to zero.

Wow, I did not know your score could go to zero.

I just want to make sure I do this right, and do what I can to get my score back up, but I worry I will never be able to get anything to get my score up anyways with it being go low.

Well, maybe I didn't phrase that right. It is not really ZERO. I meant that I don't have a FICO score. There is no score to report since all my debt is currently in the Chapter 13.

FICO scores range from 300 to 850.
