    I am a signer on Mom's CC..what happens to these amounts in a 13?

    Hi,

I am a signer on 1 of my Mom's CC. I have a balance of $30,000 on it. What happens to my Mom's credit (if anything if) I file Chapter 13 or 7?

I also have an additional $160,000 in CC debt. (my business went very badly these pat 2 years!!!!)

Can I include this amonout in a 13 or 7 or?

Please help!!!! So confused and scared and hopeless and.......

You need to speak to an attorney. The laws vary by state.

In Indiana, I filed bankruptcy and had a car that had a co-signer. The care was kept out of the bankruptcy on the basis that I was protecting my co-signer and had no desire to surrender the car. Of course, I still have to make payments on that car until it's paid off and it's a secured asset, so it's a little different.

A good attorney should be able to give you a pretty good answer to this question. They offer free consultations, I would suggest meeting with a few and including this in your questions to ask. There are a lot of loopholes and ways around things.

    Chin up!
