Questions regarding USAA and filing chapter 13

My husband and I are considering filing chapter 13 within the next few months. Other than what reading I have done on the internet the last couple of days, I don't know a lot about bankruptcy.
We have our checking account, homeowners/car/life insurance and 2 cc with USAA. From what I have read on the internet- it looks like no matter what we will lose all of these services if we file?
Would we have the option of reaffirming the 2 USAA cc (total balances of about 7K), and possibly still being able to do business with them?
If I could come up with some way to just pay off these cc (possibly borrowing $ from familiy) before I filed chapter 13, is that legal and would it help?
I am not worried about the cc or keeping the cc- I just don't want to lose all our insurance and our checking account through them and then have to go through the hassle of getting set up with other companies for these services. If there's anyway to minimize the damage to my relationship with this company I'd love to know about it.
    Thanks!

Here is our experience with USAA. We had home and auto with them. Once CC that we included in our 13. Didn't cancel us, renewed policy, etc. We wanted to change something on our policy and when I spoke to them, they said since technically we still owe money to the USAA bank, we need to pay it first before they can re-issue our policy. I told her it was getting paid through our bk, but that wasn't considered payment to them (who knows if they are getting anything..?).
We cancelled our auto policy but kept our homeowners.

I would get a new bank, move your life insurance, etc. It just isn't worth it. I don't know about paying off, I think if you pay more than $500 to any creditor w/in a few months of filing it is considered "preferential" treatment and you can get dinged for it. Check with your attorney though, I'm not sure about that.

      2 1/2 years into a ch 13

My homeowners and auto insurance have remained unchanged w/ USAA despite having a cc with them in my BK. I would definitely get a different checking account, and by no means should you reaffirm the debt, which will either get paid off or discharged in your ch 13 plan.

My experience is the same as toojerm's. My renter's policy and auto policy have continued in force now 2 years into the BK. The only thing we lost was internet access to account information.

USAA will let you have limited online access via their mobile phone application. Other than being the size of a phone, it seems to work fine. I am able to pay my auto insurance and cars to USAA using this application.

I filed in December and so far, they have not touched the $50.00 in my checking account with them.
