Excess Auto Insurance Proceeds- Who keeps them?

I have a confirmed Chapter 13 plan. I had a freight truck I used for business. It was involved in an accident. The insurance co is going to pay me 15,000.00 for it I owe $12,000.00 total under the plan. Do I get to keep the excess proceeds or will they be paid to my creditors?

That's a question for your lawyer, but my gut feeling is that you will have to pay the excess insurance money into the plan, unless it it used to purchase a new vehicle.
