    Chapter 13 and 1st Mortgage

    Hi all,
Filed Chapter 13 last month, 341 coming up before the end of Nov.
I am also doing a lien strip on my 2nd loan ($60K)(Chase).

The 1st mortgage ($523K) will be paid outside the plan. I now am finding that my first mortgage (Wachovia), has frozen my online account. Is this normal?

Can you share your Chapter 13 + 1st Mortgage experience?

    Thank you!

yes its normal for them to do so - you just need to have your lawyer send a letter stating they can communicate with you. Usually lenders do this so they dont violate anything. We were lucky in that our lender never did that and we've always been able to access online, but we also got a letter from the lender stating it was approved for them to talk to us. Our 1st is also outside of our plan and we are stripping the 2nd.

Thanks for the reply Pandora. So the statements kept on coming and you just pay thru regular mail while waiting for 341, right?

Thats usually what happens, yes. We have the option to pay online or through mail - I always pay through mail so I have my canceled check and the bank doesnt have my bank account number on file (yes..I'm a little paranoid)
