I wanted to jump back out here one more time and let everyone know we made it!
We paid 70% back and filed old law in 10/05. Our payments began at $620 every 2 weeks and then when our adjustable mortgage expired, (I know! APR! lol) it went to $752 bi-weekly. With the raises we received over the years and getting to keep our tax refunds, we made it just fine.
We paid our last payment to the trustee at the end of Sept. I got closing papers on Friday Oct 8th, a check for over payment of $1083.00 on 10/15 and back pay on my paycheck on 10/22. We have to wait the 90 days for the discharge to go through the court but since I'm getting ALL my paycheck again its WONDERFUL!
We paid our mortgage inside the plan and both of our vehicles made it through the 5 years. My 01 Honda Civic has 255,700 miles on it! Our credit is above 620 (we were checking into a refi to pay out of it early and decided to wait).
Me and my DH are 39/42 yrs old and have a new start. You can't beat it. We will refinance to a fixed mtg rate after discharge, hopefully buy some newer used cars with CASH and really start saving for retirement and the kid's college.
Thanks to everyone on this board. I SCOURED it daily at times to keep my sanity and wondered if I'd get through. And we did!
