    Question about Judgement

I might get judgement against me from a civil suit. If I file Chapter 13, would that judgement be gone after end of Ch 13 or still remain after 5 years? I live in GA.

What happend to lien on my house from that judgement after CH 13 , 5 year term?

    Thanks

Not a C13 person but the automatic stay will toll your Judgment procedure. It is wise to avoid one if you can. C7 will get rid of it. The leins you are stuck with. They will not be removed unless the Judgment that caused the lein is cleared. Yes sounds a bit odd, but it is what I have heard and understand. The lein goes with the house not you. The Judgment goes with you. No matter who owns the house, even if repo'ed the lein will have to be satisfied before it can be resold. 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

So chapter 7 get rid of judgment totally? That is wierd. If I lose job and default on CC and other debt and file for Ch 7 would be right thing, if I get judgment than go with Ch 13 and pay some back. Wierd laws. lol
