How to get an Auto Loan during repayment plan - just moved, new job

Can anyone recommend a Metro-Atlanta dealer that will work with us?

We originally filed with a reaffirmed leased vehicle that terminated in March 2010 in the monthly amount of $365.

In UT, there are dealers who will slog together a proposal to put before the judge (with a vehicle, price +++, down, pmt and terms), but here in Atlanta, I'm running into dealers who want you to get permission BEFORE applying for the loan.

I get it. I get it. Having spent 20+ years in retail auto and finance, they don't want to potentially tie up a vehicle or to waste their lenders' time. They may also be afraid of litigation, ie: "but you promised me THIS CAR with THESE TERMS!!"

According to my atty, all the judge needs is a proposal. Then as long as my new loan doesn't exceed the payment and I don't put too much down, I'm OK. I think they also watch for out-right usery, too, as far as rates go.

I'm thinking that if I can find a reasonably reliable web-based loan and couple it with the buyer's order on a car I found, I may be able to get the judge's approval.

Tried CapOne but too recent of move and new job nixed them on us.

    Anyone else?

I would highly recommend a Carmax if you have one in your area. We are 2 years into a 5 year plan and were approved through Roadloads for a loan at 19%. Capital One denied us outright. Went into Carmax and they approved us through their financing at 7.9%. Saved us a bunch of money and they have a really good selection of cars and will bring them in from any of their other dealers throughout the US for a small fee. We ended up with a very low mileage van under bluebook value that will definitely last us through the end of our plan. They told us they deal with open 13's all the time and had no problem holding the car for us until the Trustee approved the purchase (took about two weeks).
