Take heart, Jane, we have been in a chapter 13 with a pretty hefty payment and it was still a huge relief just to have the phone calls stop, and we sure slept better at night knowing we had finally taken that step. We have managed ok, its kind of a drag sometimes but you can do it! : ) good luck!

With all the SPAMs lately from "friendly lenders" wanting to help us by refinancing debt, it crossed my mind also that BK Court people could be reading this Forum as well.

There probably are some Net saavy Trustees out there that participate in Forums themselves or know Forums exist. They might search out sites like this one. Others probably don't know and don't care.

One attny we Consulted with was very Net saavy. He wasn't surprised to know that a BK Forum exists. Another attny we Consulted with didn't even know the new numbers were out. He wondered how I'd gotten them as he hadn't been "officially" informed of the amounts yet. I told him I got them at the DOJ website. He was amazed the info was available to anybody who looked for it.

People lurk at Forums all the time. You never know who's reading what we write.

When you do change it Jane, don't be negative like say "indebtforever". Make it something that reflects your assets in life or your good qualities or hopes for the future. When you are depressed or have children and family issues WORDS are important. Be encouraged, things will get better. Cry on our shoulders, we are mostly a sympathetic bunch no matter how you got where you are.

Thanks for your advice! No, this is not my real name!! Perhaps, although, I could change it. You are not hassling me at all. And you are right, words do matter. I appreciate the help and know that all of us are vulnerable right now.

We do make too much money for our state and our medical expenses aren't enough to qualify for Chapter 7.

I know we will be just fine. It won't be easy, but it will be okay.

Hi!

Minny, thank you for your post. I just learned that a patient of mine has been through BK and is very ill. Of course I can't give details, but I did feel like crying and am offering up prayers for this person.

My BK has brought my husband and me closer to God, closer to each other, and closer to our beautiful children. I fully believe that in the long run, my extended family and I will enjoy a much healthier relationship.

I will let you know when the 341 is scheduled. Please keep me posted on how you're doing as well. God bless each of you.
