    Feeling so hopeless...need to vent

We moved about two months ago, got an offer on our other home (Short Sale) and it was approved by bank. Now, less than a week before we switch ownership, etc, the bank had the house rekeyed. now, we can't get in. And we are still technically the owners, paying utilities and insurance. The sign was taken down last week and the lawn was reseeded.

To make matters worse, our homeowners insurance decided that since the mortgage company told them the home was abandoned(they came by to do a check when the sign was down and lawn looked terrible), they have canceled our policy, cars, home, etc. everything.

We paid the 6 month premium so we could get the cheapest rate and since we had the money at the time and we only are 2 months into the 6 months!

Now we have to get new insurance and we are in a new state so it is so annoying!! UGH. We filed over a year ago and other than having hardly anything to give to my child for their birthday, this is the most desperate day I've had.

Thanks for letting me vent. I hope it will get better.

Rest assured things will get better and we all have dark days during a BK. Foreclosure is not an easy process and there are a lot of risks associated with staying in the house and/or moving out. You found out one of them. Note you are entitled to a refund of part of the premium you paid so make sure you get that back.

Since title is transferring in less than a week, you may want to rethink getting insurance on the house but this is something you will have to personally weigh out. Best of luck to you.

AAA seems to be one of the few companies that does not check credit to give quotes on insurance, at least in my state. Getting insurance with them when my existing company wanted to jerk up my rates after my Chapter 13 was easy and quick.

Just in case you need a tip.
