Question about visiting doctor included in Chapter 13

Ok, last June I tore my ACL, MCL, strained PCL, meniscus and fractured tibial bone plateau. I had surgery and TONS of Physical therapy. I stopped PT last December, just prior to filing 13. Couldn't afford co-pays anymore and I had a bill wracking up. $466 for my part of the knee brace, $113 for the left over PT bill.

They were included in the 13. The time for proof of claim passed on June 16. They did not file a claim.

I am having issues with my knee, but afraid to go back to the doctor. I have also strained my right knee.

Will the front know about my BK? Will they try to collect total payment when I try to check out? Will they deny me an appt due to BK? Should I go to another orthopedic doctor?

We were told by our attorney that if its a private practice you owe $ to, then yes, they can deny to see you and treat you. Sometimes its up to the dr if they agree to see you, but they cant collect if they didnt file a claim. However with that being said - I do know from second hand experience that some drs. can request you pay the bill in order to be seen again by them, even if it was discharged (which seems illegal to me..but..I've seen it done).

Is this a dr you have a long relationship with or can you see another one if they deny you treatment?

I hope you feel better soon.
