In a 13, when does the money get distributed to creditors? After or during?

I think nothing is distributed before confirmation, then they start paying priority claims like taxes and lawyers. I suspect that funds potentially payable to unsecureds are held to the end (discharge) in case any other creditors come forward with valid claims, in particular secured claims, especially motor vehicles who would be entitled to be paid ahead of unsecured creditors (and even ahead of lawyers, really). How much you get back if you bail out is an open question.

I think the law is an extension of politics and therefore most definitely a game.

It took a year for us to get confirmed and the only payments the Trustee made were to my car that was included and his payment. The claims summary doesn't show anything but my lawyer and my car.

I am sure that now we are finally confirmed the others will show up. But they in line behind many priority payments.

      Filed July 09
      Confirmation - June 2010
      Final Payment - June 2014 - 7/2/14 DISCHARGED

So assuming that avoided judgment liens become unsecured debt, then your priority payments are for things like consenual liens (mortgages) , taxes, propertytaxes and such????????

My lawyer said that the money into the plan would go to IRS and secured, regardless of changes made after I file.

Either way, the protection is good, and even if all the money is going to the unsecured, the unsecured ends up with about 20 percent.

Hopefully, the unsecured gets nothing, like the plan orginally called for.

Honestly, don't worry about your trustee's disbursements or when they are being made. You have absolutely no control over when your trustee makes disbursements or when they are made.

Relax because there's not a darned thing any of your creditors can do (including secureds that are to paid by your trustee as a part of your plan) if they don't get paid by the trustee until after confirmation. Once you're confirmed, the disbursements will start to your priority creditors first. Then when they are paid off, the disbursements will start for your non-secureds. Your trustee will catch any payments up quickly after confirmation happens.

Since there's nothing you can do here, it's far better to focus your energies on something you can control - your budget and saving up for that inevitable emergency that *will* happen
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Notice of Trustees Intention to Pay Claims

Just received correspondence from Trustee... lists all creditors and two are listed with amounts that were owed. All other creditors have "X-Not Filed" next to them. The two creditors that have amounts next to them recently were paid by the trustee this month -- 6 months into our BK.

The deadlines for non-governmental and governmental claims has passed -- March/April. Datacenter says we are in Z Status...

Does this mean that the other creditors did not file claims and therefore will not get paid? Are we lucky to get out early? We had a 100% payback.

House was surrendered.... Citi did not file claim.

              Are we done?

Waiting to hear back from lawyer.... Any thoughts?

I think Citi laid off everybody who processed proof of claims. I didn't get any filed in mine or wife's cases, and credit bureau disputes seem to go unanswered.
