A note to other folks in the area looking to file 13. If you are near Wake county but not in it. MOVE

The district-specific laws are so much better in Wake from neighboring counties that it is absolutely worth it. There are a few counties here that my atty refuses to take cases from, because the court/trustees there are so difficult to work with.

Since Wake uses your plan time as a *multiplier* rather than a *duration*, you could potentially save thousands on your unsecured debt should your income increase after your filing.

Wake: your income goes up and you pay out plan total early
Durham: your income goes up and you pay more during your plan

    Crazy, isn't it?

We "pay direct", that is we pay by check. I use my bank's billpay, and just allow a full two weeks for it to get to them - since my bank mails billpay checks from another state.

You only have to do payroll deduction in this district if your mortgage is through the plan.
Do either of you pay half at a time?

I pay in one payment each month. If you have it paid through auto draft from your paycheck it is split. For example, if you get paid every 2 weeks they take half each time.
