    public records, forever?

    So we know that BK is a matter of public record, my question is will it be on my public record forever? Do they ever get taken off? I know they fall off the credit report 7-10years, but not sure about a public record.
    Filed August 09, all payments made as of July 12th, 2013.....Waiting on final audit and discharge!

      Stays forever - but I believe after its off the credit report someone would need to know where to look to find out about it.

        You don't have a "public record".

        What you have is a case that is public information (a matter of public record).

        You cannot expunge your BK if that is what you are asking. But as was mentioned, once it falls off your credit report, anyone looking would have to directly to PACER to find it.
