What is going on with my house?

So we moved out of our house over a year ago and it's still sitting empty. I know I got some sort of trustee notice sale way back, I think before October even, but it's still sitting empty. Is there any way or any site I can go to so I can look to see where the house may be in the status of the foreclosure?? I just want this over with and will be happy when I finally see it listed for sale! I feel guilty seeing it so overgrown with weeds and know that it's a pain for my neighbors to deal with. I did see that they have changed the lock on the house, so maybe it HAS already been foreclosed and the bank is just dragging it's feet with getting the house listed?

My guess is, probably the later, the house has foreclosed and the bank is dragging its heels on getting it sold.

I suppose you could go to your county's website and see the last item recorded under the homes address at the county recorder (or assessor). Odds are, you will probably see some sort of conveyance or re-conveyance of title to the bank.

You saw it or did you try your old key.

Find the county recorder's office online and search their website. Almost all States have the property records online.

Thanks! Looked on the assessor's website and US Bank took it over on November 9th. What the heck are they waiting for! Can't believe they haven't listed it for sale yet...

The market is flooded. They are probably either waiting for values to increase or inventory to decrease (or both). If banks put all of their foreclosed homes on the market at the same time, values would probably drop even further.

Yeah, good luck with with this one. We stopped paying on a house we are surrendering on our 13 back in March of last year. We were confirmed back in February. The bank has not foreclosed or even started the process yet of filing the motion to lift the stay, etc. At this rate it will be another year before they foreclose and sell the house.
