If you feel so strongly about this, when can he expect you to come and pick up the horses so that you can take care of them?

If your answer is you aren't going to pick them up, then you need to get off your high horse.

You have to look at your situation as a whole. About a month or so ago, my 2 year old gray tabby cat got a UTI and became blocked. I didn't recognize it soon enough (I have 2 cats and they only use one litter box). I took him to the vet. The vet tried to unblock him but couldn't. The vet wanted me to take him to an animal hospital as he needed surgery and she had never done that surgery before.

This would have cost more than I could pay. I had to look at the whole picture, including the fact that I have an 8 year old and a 10 year old along with another cat to take care of and there was no guarantee that the surgery (which would have essentially made him like a female cat) would have worked. I had him put to sleep.

You have to do what is best for your family and your situation.

I did read the rest of your posts. Nowhere did you offer to take the horses.

There NEEDS be a different thread to continue the horse talk because this has gotten off track.
Lets get back to the reason for his original post folks.

I dont know where you live - if you type in "horse rescue" and then your state, you will find TONS of horse rescue places listed. Look outside of your state as well - there are MANY organizations that are willing to drive to you to come rescue horses. Trust me..... and if they dont drive to you, what is driving to them if its over 100 miles? I mean honestly - you claim they are your pets and you dont want to put them down... so do what you have to do to ensure they are not put to sleep. You rescued them for a reason according to you when you got them - so do the same kindness and let them be rescued again.
+1 killing pets just because u can't afford them is selfish and mean .

The attorney will make pet care allowances. He/she will also make allowances for recreation; since you don't "recreate" you can use that money for the horses. As others have given you, there are rescues that will come and pick them up. Contact Best Friends; this animal sanctuary may also be able to point you in the right direction.

As for the kids, they are adults and time for them to get jobs and contribute to the household.
