    Discharged

I made my last Ch. 13 plan payment in November of 2009 and was warned to prepare to wait up to a year for discharge. Today I went home on my lunch break and grabbed the mail, and there it was...our discharge! I am in stunned disbelief, and the happy tears haven't stopped flowing.

For those of you only part way through or just begininng the Ch. 13 journey, hang in there, you can do it. There were so many times I wanted to give up, it wasn't always easy. But we made it. All in all it has been six years...the longest six years of my life. The relief of having this behind me is overwhleming - in a good way. I am more than ready to go celebrate and enjoy my new beginning!

why did/does it take so long to be discharged after making all the payments? 5 years is enough of a sentence, and I agree, they are the longest years of your life being under this deplorable plan.

Congratulations!! You should be sooooooooooo proud of yourself. Getting through these years are very difficult and to complete a Chapter 13 plan is phenomenal!

My district just happens to be notoriously slow/backlogged. It has been especially difficult because we have been waiting to put our house on the market for the past three years. Unfortunately it proved to be too difficult and costly for us to seek the trustee's approval to do this during our plan. The wait for our discharge flat out sucked, but the feeling I have today after holding that paper in my hand made it all worthwhile. Who knows how the house thing will go in this market/economy, but I finally feel free

Thank you for all the warm wishes!
